I officially leave for my World race trip in 16 days. 16 days till I say goodbye to all I've ever known, 16 days till I see different cultures, 16 days till I hop on that plane and fly 5,927 miles away from home. It is a lot to process, a lot to take in. I can't help but to feel all the emotions at once.
I've cried a lot, I've had moments of feeling depressed, I've had moments of feeling so scared that I could vomit. I'm so excited but yet so scared. I'm so ready to start this new chapter of my life, but yet so sad to leave the old one behind. I know that there is a risk that comes with this decision. I'm leaving all I've ever known behind, leaving a version of myself at home and will come back as a new version of myself. Not that that is a bad thing because growth is a beautiful thing. It's a beautiful thing but its also a bittersweet thing because things will never be exactly the same ever again. I'm leaving behind a version of myself that I will never get back. I will never be that 17 year old girl ever again, I will never be the girl who drove to rehearsals every day in high school ever again. A new life is beginning, a new me that God is wiring me to become. It's scary. It's so scary but yet so exciting. This is the adventure I've been craving for years. I love traveling and God saw that desire and gave me this incredible opportunity. I can see new cultures and do something that I love while praising Jesus, while serving him. What a great God he is! I'm so excited to meet new people, I'm so excited to see new countries, I'm so excited to learn more about myself, I'm so excited to learn more about God, and I'm so excited to serve him and see all the amazing things that he will do! Please keep me in your prayers as I prepare to leave.
